3M™ Vinyl Tape 471+ was developed as a flexible tape with a versatile rubber adhesive and a slightly translucent backing. This allows precise placement in complex patterns. The tape is easily removed without adhesive residue even after a 30 min oven cycle at 121°C.

3M Vinyl Tape 471+ provides performance and productivity for fine-line marking in many critical painting applications. Sharp delineation for color separations is possible because it resists loosening. The versatile rubber adhesive sticks to a wide range of surfaces including resins, after this it can be cleanly removed from smooth or compound surfaces. The tape was developed to follow curves well and stretches and sticks even with a radius as small as 1.5''. The tape follows irregular designs with a sharp delineation. Its slight translucency allows complex patterns to be aligned. The flexible backing is abrasion resistant and protects surfaces during many sandblasting processes.Upon completion, the tape can be removed in one piece.
