Details 3M™ Flap Disc 769F, T29, 115 mm x 22.23 mm, 120+
- Provides long-term high performance and versatility
- Cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional abrasive grains thanks to
the 3M™ Precision-Shaped Grain technology
- Proven to outperform traditional flap wheels based on
aluminum oxide-zirconium
- Individual flaps are broken down, releasing new, unused minerals
that provide consistent cutting performance throughout the life of the disc
- Ideal for use on carbon steel, stainless steel and other heat-sensitive
alloys
The 3M™ Flap Disc 769F is our durable and powerfully abrasive flap disc with 3M™ Precision-Shaped Grain technology and a durable polyester backing
Use 3M™ Flap Disc 769F, T29, 115 mm x 22.23 mm, 120+
Use 3M™ Flap Disc 769F for a malleable and versatile flap disc that delivers performance and durability. Our discs with 3M™ Precision-Shaped Grain technology have proven to outperform traditional alumina-zirconia-based flap discs. This abrasive material continuously breaks down into sharp points that quickly cut through metal, unlike traditional abrasive grains, which tend to "plow" through the material being machined. The fracturing of the abrasive material and the breakdown of individual lamellae, allowing new unused minerals to continually emerge, ensures a high cutting speed that remains constant over the life of the disc.
The polyester backing improves the durability of the disc and together with the deformability of the disc means it is suitable for high-pressure applications such as chamfering, grinding welds and edge deburring. In addition, the disc provides a beautiful finish, making it an excellent choice for applications such as blending and surface preparation. In many cases, the 3M™ Flap Disc 769F allows you to perform grinding and finishing operations in one step without replacing the abrasive material. This is possible because under normal conditions the 769F generates a finish that is one level finer than the finish of a fiber wheel of the same grit. Although a fiber disc will cut faster, these flap discs allow you to skip steps and eliminate the need to change discs, saving time and increasing productivity. They are ideal for use on carbon steel, stainless steel and other heat-sensitive alloys.
