Our sanding sleeves are largely provided by Lukas,
a German manufacturer with a very broad program in the field of sanding and
grinding.
Sanding sleeves and speeds
We roughly distinguish sanding sleeves into two forms. We
know the conical sanding sleeve and the cylindrical sanding sleeve. The sleeves are
attached to a straight grinder or pencil grinder via a holder.
Depending on the diameter of the sanding sleeve and the hardness of the mandrel you determine
the speed. The smaller the sanding sleeve, the higher the speed can be. A
sleeve of 10x20mm, for example, requires 57,000 rpm. A large diameter of 75
mm you can use a maximum speed of 6,500. Further, a soft abrasive sleeve holder requires significantly
fewer revolutions than a hard holder.
Sanding sleeves and holders
A hard holder is most commonly used.
The soft holder is used when contours need to be followed. Of course
we are happy to give you advice.
Sanding sleeves and CubitronII
A separate quality of abrasive sleeves is the CubitronII
quality from 3M. On the initiative of Metaaltechniek, 3M has developed this product in their
product range. The sanding sleeves in this quality are
enthusiastically received by the user. The Cubitron™ II mineral provides a very high cutting power, is
more aggressive and faster and causes less heat formation. In addition, you are
assured of a uniform finish and Cubitron II abrasive minerals have an
extremely long service life. This is because the minerals have a pointed shape
and are oriented vertically toward the workpiece to penetrate deep into the
metal. The minerals wear off evenly and retain their
triangular shape. This ensures limited heat generation and a
cost-effective tool life.
