Scotch-Brite™ Clean & Strip XT Pro Disc contains a silicon carbide-based abrasive mineral incorporated into an open nylon web structure. Our discs effectively remove rust, paint, mill scale, coatings and adhesives from surfaces without significantly altering the base material.

Our discs feature a combination of engineered fiber filaments, resin and a silicon carbide-based abrasive mineral to form a thick, open web.
The elastic nature of the fibers means that these discs can follow the contours of the workpiece with greater precision to achieve a larger contact area for faster material removal. They adapt to welds so that they can be sanded without removal, and they allow access to hard-to-reach areas without damaging the substrate. Silicon carbide cuts more intensely, providing a fine finish. Unwanted burrs, dirt and contaminants are effectively removed while at the same time maintaining the geometry of the workpiece, reducing extra work and increasing productivity.
In addition, holes in the web allow the abrasive to escape, reducing clogging. The disc's reinforcing resin is gradually broken down through use to release new fibers and super-sharp silicon carbide-based abrasive material, ensuring consistent cutting action over the life of the disc.
