3M™ Cubitron™ II Fiber Disc 987C with 3M™ Precision Shaped Grain grinds extremely fast on heat-sensitive steels such as stainless steel and aluminum and offers up to 2x higher grinding speed and life compared to other fiber discs. The lower working pressure results in greater operator comfort while allowing more parts to be finished per disc. Suitable for heavier machining work.

Use the 3M™ Cubitron™ II Fiber Disc 987C to generate exceptionally high cutting speeds with less pressure, making difficult tasks much less tiring for operators.
Our discs are ideal for weld removal, beveling, grinding and blending. With the Grinding Aid on the disc, this is an excellent product for any type of metal: it keeps the disc cooler on stainless steels and heat-sensitive metals such as nickel alloys and titanium. It also reduces discoloration and oxidation of the metal, as well as the risk of heat-related stress cracking. That means our discs last longer and perform better than competitive products. They contain abrasive grains that are pre-formed into triangular calibrated abrasive tips (3M Precision Shaped Grain) that cut through metal like a knife, instead of grooving or plowing like traditional abrasives. These points continually sharpen themselves as small pieces break off, cutting through material extremely quickly.
Our discs have a tough, rigid backing of vulcanized fiber that is wear-resistant and stands up to tough grinding applications. They are ideal for removing mill scale, pits and imperfections.
