Fibre discs are used for tight, flat and fast machining. Think, for example, of eliminating welds and deburring metal.    

CubitronII fiber discs

If speed of work is important to you, then CubitronII from 3M is is usually the best choice. The 3M™ Cubitron™ II technology is a true revolution in the world of abrasives. By far the most powerful abrasive mineral in the market. The minerals have a pointed shape and are oriented vertically toward the workpiece in order to penetrate deep into the metal. The minerals wear off evenly and maintain their triangular shape. This ensures limited heat generation and cost-effective service life.

The right support pad and machine for 3M Cubitron II fiber discs

Because This fiber disc requires relatively high pressure to perform optimally, a hard support pad is important. Always order the CubitronII fiber discs with a matching a matching support pad. Because of this required pressure, we recommend using a pneumatic angle grinder compared to an electric machine.

3M 982C and 3M 987C CubitronII fiber discs

The 3M™ 982C Cubitron™IIfibre discs are specifically designed for machining steel and are particularly suitable for the most demanding applications such as the removal of weld seams, the making melt pools and chamfering before welding. They are used in foundries, shipbuilding, welding and construction companies, metal building etc.
The 3M™ 987C Cubitron II Fibre disc is excellent for applications on heat-sensitive metals such as stainless steel, aluminum and nickel alloys. The 3M 987C fibre disc penetrates deeper into the metal and cuts very consistently and quickly through the toughest metals throughout its service life.

Available in 3 different diameters: 115, 125 and 178 mm and grooves 36+, 60+ and 80+  

Other brands of fiber discs

In some cases, a lower quality fiber disc, which is then often cheaper. We offer you plenty of choice in quality and price. We carry the following brands Klingspor, VSMand Deerfos. The latter may be less well known, but definitely worth worth trying. In any case, make sure you choose a disc that is suitable for the material you want to process. We will be happy to advise you.
